Ocean Eale (he/him pronouns) oversees the City of Portland’s Advisory Bodies Program at the Office of Community & Civic Life. With over 110 advisory bodies and approximately 1,100 Portlanders serving on them, the Advisory Bodies Program is the central authority for advisory bodies at the City of Portland. His responsibilities include recruiting for vacant seats, collecting demographic data, ensuring compliance with advisory body bylaws and city code, and serving as a resource to the entire city on all things advisory bodies.

Ocean has been with the City of Portland for three years—in previous roles, he oversaw constituent services for former Commissioner Chloe Eudaly and Mayor Ted Wheeler. Ocean earned his B.A. in German Studies from Lewis & Clark College and is currently working towards earning a graduate certificate in public management from Willamette University.
